Save time on meeting notes after every call with Oris
The fastest way to save time on meeting notes is to stop taking them. With Oris you’re no longer writing the first draft yourself.
The meeting is where your judgment and attention belongs. You listen, challenge assumptions, make decisions, and work out what should happen next. Then the call ends and a second job begins: reconstruct the conversation, turn fragments into sentences, separate decisions from discussion, identify action items, and file the result somewhere useful.
That cleanup matters, but producing it by hand is low-value work. The structure is repetitive. The source material already exists. You are spending attention on transcription, extraction, and formatting instead of the decisions and follow-up that need you.
The work repeats after every meeting
This work repeats across the week. A Zoom and Morning Consult survey of 11,023 full-time knowledge workers found that 73% of leaders and 55% of employees share meeting notes and action items with colleagues at least a few times a week.
Microsoft’s 2023 Work Trend Index, based on 31,000 workers across 31 markets, found that 56% said it was difficult to summarize what happened in a virtual meeting. Another 55% said the next steps were unclear.
The burden grows with the calendar. One recap is small. Repeating the same cleanup after standups, customer calls, interviews, planning sessions, and one-on-ones turns it into a recurring tax on focused work.
Useful notes preserve the context behind decisions and give follow-up somewhere to begin. Oris removes the blank-page reconstruction that comes before that useful work.
Save time on meeting notes by starting from a draft
Oris records your microphone and the Mac’s system audio as separate sides of the conversation, without a bot joining the call. Meeting transcription runs on-device. Summarization runs on-device by default.
After the call, Oris turns the recording into a speaker-labeled transcript and writes the result to the notes destination you chose: an Obsidian vault, a folder of Markdown files, or Apple Notes. With summaries enabled and successful, the note includes a TL;DR plus the relevant action items, decisions, open questions, topics, and notable quotes. Sections the meeting did not support are left out. The full transcript remains available beneath the summary.
That changes the work from producing a document to reviewing one. Instead of replaying the meeting from memory and deciding how to organize it, you begin with a structured note already filed where you work. You can see the complete output in what lands in your note and start a recording directly from the Oris app.
Your judgment is still the valuable part
A meeting note is a first draft of what happened, not the final authority on what the team should do. Check important decisions, owners, dates, names, and wording against your understanding of the conversation. Add context that was implied but never said aloud.
Then make the calls only you can make. Add the right action items to the project tracker. Write and send the stakeholder message in the tone the situation needs. Resolve ambiguity instead of copying it forward.
Oris removes most of the mechanical step between a finished call and a usable note. Now software handles the repetitive reconstruction, while you keep responsibility for the result.
Get Oris and let your next meeting end with a structured note ready to review.
